STS helping one of their own – Win a signed 2017 NSW State of Origin Jersey

Christy Halloran is a popular member of our staff.  Tragically her husband AJ suffered a permanent spinal injury earlier this year (see Daily News story here) and this is another small way of her mates at the Club helping out.  We’ve had private staff donations, a bowls fundraiser and our staff benevolent fund donating and this raffle was another staff idea.  Our thanks to Nathan Kerr General Manager at Cudgen Leagues who organised the jersey signing, Rex & Jen Hutchinson of Coastal Framing and Design for the brilliant framing at discounted price and Peter Clark from Summit Press whose boss was kind enough to supply and print the raffle tickets for free.

So, tickets on sale now, a maximum 500 tx at $5 ea.  Grab a ticket now, feel good about helping a family in need and you may be the lucky winner :)

Tweed Clubs unite to help sick kids

Your Club is proud to join forces with Tweed Heads Bowls Club, Seagulls and Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club to support the Little Wings Charity.  Little Wings is a not for profit organisation supporting children with life threatening illnesses by providing a free ongoing flight service to children and their families living in regional and rural New South Wales to and from specialised treatment at Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick and John Hunter Children’s Hospital in Newcastle. Little Wings began its operation in September 2012 after CEO Kevin Robinson identified this need.  Read the press release here.  About Little Wings

A group of staff with a big collective heart

It’s not spoken of often or spoken out aloud but the staff at STS deserve great kudos for their Staff Benevolent Fund. The gesture started in the late 1990s & later when a long serving term team mate was diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2008, the Staff Benevolent Fund was born.  It continues now, quietly helping fellow staff members & charities.  The story from start to now here.

Supporting our local Community

STS has provided over $150,000 to a range of not for profit, community and sporting groups in the ClubGRANTS year of 2016.  This includes direct donations (cash for projects), in kind which vary from product (food), vouchers (club vouchers-fund raising) & in house discounts (free or subsidised room hire, reduced event costs).
